The Bond
Rite of Passage Retreat
July 10 - 12, 2026 | Rooted Oaks
A Father-Son Rite of Passage in Nature
WHO IS THIS RETREAT RIGHT FOR?
Boys ages 10 to 14 and their father figures who want to mark this pivotal threshold together — to deepen their connection, slow down, and step into a powerful shared experience in nature.
The Bond is a rite of passage experience for boys ages 10 to 14 and their father figures, hosted at Rooted Oaks Ranch and guided by Luke Entrup. Every boy deserves to be witnessed as he crosses the threshold from childhood into adolescence — and every father deserves to be the one who marks that moment.
Set in nature and away from the noise of everyday life, the weekend draws on emotional integration practices, warrior training, storytelling, and ritual. The retreat culminates in a guided rite of passage ceremony marking the shift from boyhood toward young manhood. It is a bonding experience of a lifetime, and a chance for both father and son to become more of who they are meant to be.
This retreat is meaningful because it can:
- Strengthen the father-son bond during a pivotal developmental window
- Build emotional literacy and integration skills in both father and son
- Open honest conversation about healthy masculinity, consent, and being a good man today
- Give boys a witnessed marker of growing maturity, and help fathers show up as the dad they want to be
